Greenpeace Detox Campaign Chemical Investigation 2015

Greenpeace’s Detox campaign aims for a toxic free future. To guide the campaign strategy, two years ago we began an internal project to map the global use, release and production of hazardous chemicals and in particular their use in four sectors. The project involved desk research to compile whatever information we could find in one place, as far as was possible. The aim of this research was to provide insights on the current use, production and release of hazardous chemicals for selected sectors within a global context in order to identify trends, key actors, sectors and chemicals.

Although the study was designed as an internal document and not a report, Greenpeace is now disclosing this research to help other organisations and interested people in their effort to detox the planet of hazardous chemicals.
